What I Wish I Knew as a Beginner: Daily ATR + Daily Open PriceIn this video, I dive into the crucial lessons I wish I knew when I first started trading, focusing on the Daily ATR and daily open price. Many U.S. traders believe they're getting an early start by waking up at 4-6 AM, but in reality, the New York session is the final session in the Forex market. By the time we hit our screens, the market might already be 'gassed,' with the ATR nearly maxed out.
I explain why understanding this can save you from chasing trades that have already exhausted their potential. I'll also discuss the importance of the daily candle open, when the ATR value 'resets,' providing fresh opportunities for day traders. Learn how to time your entries better and avoid the common pitfalls that can trap even experienced traders
A Trade as Simple as "Shooting Ducks in A Barrel" Soybean ShortIf you follow my channel, you know I love to trade a strategy that I like to call "Ducks in a Barrel". Its a strategy that is as easy as shooting ducks in a barrel.
We have a setup forming on the Daily timeframe for the Soybeans market.
Step 1: Identify trend (I like to see the 52 & 39 period SMA's sloping strongly and pulling away from each other). In the case of Soybeans, we see a strong bearish trend.
Step 2: In a down trending market, we want to see an asset become OVERVALUED VS GOLD & US TREASURIES. We see with Soybeans, we are now overvalued on the Daily timeframe vs gold & treasuries. Assets that are overvalued in a strong downtrend are assets that we want to SELL.
Step 3: In a down trending market, we want to see an asset become OVERBOUGHT. We see on the Daily stochastic that Soybeans are overbought. Assets that are overbought in a strong downtrend are assets that we want to SELL.
Step 4: In a down trending market, we want to see advisor SENTIMENT become BULLISH. The advisors and general public are usually wrong, so when they become overly bullish in a strong down trend, we want to sell into that bullish sentiment.
Step 5: We can also look at accumulation/distribution indicators and momentum for further confirmation of our idea. But realistically, we just need to see 2 or more of the above indicators confluent with each other to have a setup market.
Step 6: For the Daily timeframe, I utilize the H4 chart for my entry. The safest entry is to wait for 2 full range days to form beneath the 18 period SMA, and from there market enter when the lowest low of these 2 candles is hit. There are other entry techniques to get into the market earlier, but they come with greater risk.
NOTE: If you follow my channel, you will know that I am long Soybeans based on my COT strategy. Commercials are close to the max long positioning of the last 3 years (bullish), OI grinding up on the multi-month down move caused by CM's (bullish), paunch forming (bullish), bearish weekly sentiment (bullish), undervalued on weekly vs gold and treasuries (bullish), major cyclical lows (bullish). I have different accounts for different strategies, as sometimes we get conflicting signals.
If you have any questions about these "ducks in a barrel" trade setups, feel free to give me a message.
As always, I wish you good luck & good trading.
TradingView Auto Chart Patterns - AMZN LULU GOOGL META NVDA I've been playing around with the auto chart patterns for a few weeks now and so far it's been pretty accurate. I think it's great to have an automated tool to help identify a lot of the common patterns I look for so I wanted to share. It also gives extra confirmation to my current bias. We'll see how these patterns end up playing out.
September Effect - Up/Down/Sideways - How I'm Trading ItSummer trading is officially done and the market will be news sensitive leading up to the big bad FOMC Rate Decision on September 18.
August's monthly candle is a wild one with a massive wick to the south and the bulls pushed the SPY within a whisker of all-time highs, Dow to several all-time highs, Nasdaq into a nice bullish recovery posture, and Russell the same (higher lows).
6 Central Bank Rate Decisions in September
US News on Employment and Inflation all rolling out before the FOMC
I'd like to see a seasonal dip or pullback to offer more accumulation opportunities before a run higher. Let's see how it plays out.
Ethereum - Buy It Now Or Never!Ethereum ( BITSTAMP:ETHUSD ) will offer a final retest:
Click chart above to see the detailed analysis👆🏻
Ethereum is about to retest a perfect confluence of support from which a bullish reversal is almost certain. Following the overall bullish trend, Ethereum should retest the previous all time high next and then maybe even follow Bitcoin and create new all time highs going into 2025.

This Simple Strategy Could Make You a Fortune in the Gold Marketprice action of Gold Spot (XAU/USD) in relation to the trendlines and patterns indicated.
Chart Analysis
1. Weekly Flag Trendline:
- The first chart shows a trendline forming a "flag" pattern on a higher time frame (possibly weekly or daily). This flag appears to be a bullish continuation pattern, indicating that after the consolidation within the flag, the price might continue in the direction of the prior trend, which seems to be up.
2. Price Action Inside the Flag:
- Within the flag, there is a period of consolidation marked by the parallel trendlines. The price has been respecting these lines, creating higher lows and lower highs, indicating indecision or preparation for a breakout.
3. Potential Breakout Zones:
- Key breakout zones are marked by the upper resistance of the flag pattern around the 2,530 level and the lower support trendline of the flag around the 2,470 level. A breakout above the upper resistance could signal a continuation of the prior uptrend, while a break below the lower support could indicate a reversal or deeper pullback.
4. Smaller Patterns:
- On the second chart (1-hour time frame), there's a more detailed view of recent price action with a potential bearish flag or pennant forming, suggesting a temporary pullback or consolidation within the larger flag. This smaller pattern appears to be within a trading range bounded by the horizontal support and resistance levels.
5. Key Support and Resistance Levels:
- The charts show horizontal support around the 2,433.301 level, which aligns with a historical low that could serve as a significant support level. Similarly, the resistance level is around 2,530, where the price has repeatedly failed to break above.
6. Current Market Context:
- The price is currently hovering around 2,497, near the middle of the trading range, suggesting indecision. This midpoint could be a neutral zone where the price could move in either direction based on upcoming market momentum or news.
Trading Strategy and Considerations
- Entry Points:
- If considering a bullish scenario, a long entry could be planned near the lower support line of the flag, around 2,470, with a stop loss slightly below the flag's support to manage risk. A breakout above the 2,530 resistance could also provide a good entry point for a continuation of the uptrend.
- For a bearish scenario, a short entry could be considered if the price breaks below the 2,470 support level, confirming a breakdown from the flag pattern.
- Risk Management:
- The proximity of the price to both upper and lower boundaries of the flag pattern provides clear levels for stop placement. This helps in managing risk effectively, keeping losses contained if the trade goes against the initial bias.
- Monitoring Price Action:
- Watch for potential breakouts from the smaller patterns within the flag, as these could provide early signals of the larger move's direction. It would also be essential to keep an eye on volume changes, as increased volume could confirm the validity of a breakout or breakdown.
By aligning your trades with these patterns and key levels, you can take advantage of the potential setups provided by the price action within these consolidating formations. Ensure to adapt to new market conditions and stay disciplined in executing your trading plan.

Crypto and Bitcoin Market Update - Price Forecasts and MoreIn this video, I cover where I think the markets go next, including Bitcoin, ETH and Solana.
And how the NASDAQ:IBIT has become similar to the !CME in terms of how price tends to fill any gaps.
Nobody else is talking about this, but see for yourself and start tracking the IBIT gaps on a 4 Hour chart -- You'll be amazed.
I also share potential paths, likely a dip first, then push higher toward ATH.
And a new study I've been refining based on liquidity and timing cycles, showing we're very close to a major move upward in Bitcoin and the rest of the market.
Howerver, I feel the biggest bang for your $ will be BTC, SOL, and ETH from here.

Entering into a resistance zone, watching for support to hold Ahoy, fellow chart sailors! 🚢
Looks like we're steering into some resistance waters at the moment. Here's the treasure map for today:
The Resistance: We're bumping up against a notorious resistance level. Will it be the plank or will we sail through?
Support Ahoy: Keep your telescopes on the support lines. If we start to sink, these are the levels where we might find some buoyancy.
Volume Waves: Keep an eye on the trading volume. A surge could mean we're about to discover new lands (breakout), or it might just be a siren's song.
Signal Flags: My indicators are fluttering in the wind. The RSI is hinting we might be overbought, but the MACD still waves the bullish flag. What flags are you flying?
Trading Tactics:
Bullish Buccaneers: If you're on the long voyage, maybe set your stop-loss anchors just below the key support.
Bearish Brigands: If you're looking to short, wait for the cannons to confirm a breach below support.
What's your game plan as we sail through this resistance? Drop your thoughts below! Let's navigate these waters together. 🌊
Keep your wits about you and may your trades be ever in your favor!
Let's share our charts and insights. After all, a rising tide lifts all boats!
Gold at a Crossroads: Breakout or Sharp Correction Ahead for XAU1. Daily Time Frame (1D)
Channel Formation: The daily chart shows an ascending channel, indicating a consistent upward trend. This structure suggests that gold has been gradually gaining strength over time, with higher highs and higher lows.
Key Levels:
2,507.90: Price is hovering near this key resistance, close to the upper boundary of the channel. This is also near a 15M Liquidity Zone (LQZ), making it a potential reversal point if the price cannot break through decisively.
2,500.953 and 2,477.895: These are marked as 4H Liquidity Zones (LQZ), providing support within the current channel. A drop below these levels could signal a deeper pullback towards the Daily LQZ at 2,352.710.
2. 4-Hour Time Frame (4H)
Continuation Pattern: The 4H chart mirrors the ascending channel visible on the daily chart. The price is currently testing the resistance area, and there is potential for a pullback if it fails to break above.
Liquidity Zones:
2,507.180: This is a 15-minute LQZ, very close to the current price.
2,500.953: A more significant 4H LQZ is just below the 15M LQZ. The confluence of these zones adds weight to the potential for a reversal or a strong move if this area is breached.
3. 15-Minute Time Frame (15M)
Rejection and Potential Correction: On the 15-minute chart, there is a small rising wedge pattern that appears to be breaking down, indicating a potential short-term reversal. The price is rejecting the upper boundary of the wedge, suggesting that a correction could follow.
Trade Opportunity: A break below 2,500.953 (15M LQZ) could lead to a sharper move down towards 2,477.895 (4H LQZ). This aligns with the larger time frame structures, adding credibility to this potential move.
4. 5-Minute Time Frame (5M)
Immediate Reaction: The 5-minute chart shows a rejection of the upper boundary of the ascending channel and a possible small head and shoulders pattern developing. This further supports the bearish outlook in the very short term.
Potential Targets: If the pattern plays out, a move towards 2,500.953 and below would align with the bearish scenarios on the higher time frames.
Conclusion
Short-Term Bearish Bias: Across all time frames, there's a consistent pattern of the price rejecting key resistance areas, particularly near 2,507.90 (15M LQZ) and 2,500.953 (4H LQZ). This suggests that the price may correct downward before any further attempts to break higher.
Watch for Confirmations: If the price breaks below the 4H LQZ at 2,477.895, it could indicate a deeper pullback, possibly towards the daily LQZ at 2,352.710. However, a strong bounce from the current support levels could resume the upward trend.
This analysis aligns with the multi-touch confirmation approachand the rule of three, which emphasizes the importance of repeated touches on a trendline or key level before confirming a breakout or reversal.

Lessons From my Losses August 19th 2024 Today the price action again was not ideal. I talk about not getting into trades based on FOMO and overtrading, which I did today. I am a little upset with myself as I was not disciplined. I showed a trade with great confirmation on the 15-minute chart I missed. Let me know what you guys think in the comments and tell me about how your trading went today!
Natural gas is the downtrend resuming? Nat gas still fits all the criteria for a large downtrend.
Lower highs & Lower lows are still in place on the weekly timeframe.
This obviously swings probabilities in favour of lower price.
However historically were still at some oversold levels.
Just because this asset is oversold honest mean it can't go lower.
Im watching the daily 50MA & 200MA closely...do we get the death cross formation to occur again?
Usually this signal provides a near term bounce but medium term decline.

Dow Theory: A Guide to Trend FollowingThis is a follow up idea from my recent idea about a trade setup on the Nasdaq that I thought was an excellent opportunity due to the major trend break that had lasted nearly a full year. We'll see if that ends up working out for me or not. I think it's too soon to say, but as of now it did break above and close above the line on Friday.
This is a short version with some more examples, but you can check out the last video along with most of my ideas because they almost all include trend analysis. I think the power of using Dow Theory and basic trendlines is often overlooked. This is why my charts don't have indicators on them, trend following is all I need to be profitable. There are many ways to trade and all kinds of strategies you can make money with, but this is how I do it and it's how legends like Jesse Livermore did it over 100 years ago.
