United Arab Bank PJSC engages in the business of commercial banking. It also carries out Islamic banking operations through Islamic banking windows at selected branches. It operates through the Wholesale Banking and Retail Banking segments. The Wholesale Banking segment deals with handling loans and other credit facilities and deposit and current accounts for corporate and institutional customers. This segment also includes Financial Markets unit, which is principally involved in providing money market, trading and treasury services, as well as the management of the bank’s funding operations. The Retail Banking segment handles individual customers’ deposits, and provides consumer type loans, overdrafts, credit card facilities, and funds transfer facilities as well as Islamic banking services. The company was founded by Faisal bin Sultan bin Salem Al-Qassimi on January 21, 1975 and is headquartered in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates.
