GOLD (To 2369$) Fed's Inflation Measure Up 0.2% in AprilFed’s Preferred Inflation Measure Rises 0.2% in April, as Expected
According to a closely watched measure released Friday by the Federal Reserve, inflation rose as expected in April, with markets anxious about when interest rates might begin to decline.
The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, excluding food and energy costs, increased by 0.2% for the period, matching the Dow Jones estimate.
On an annual basis, core PCE rose by 2.8%, 0.1 percentage points higher than the estimate.
Including the volatile food and energy categories, PCE inflation was 2.7% annually and 0.3% from the previous month. These figures were also in line with forecasts.
Technical Analysis of Gold
The price has stabilized in the bullish zone, particularly after the PCE result came in at 0.2%.
The first bullish targets are 2364 and 2369. After reaching these levels, the price is expected to move between 2369 and 2354 until a breakout occurs.
Volatility is expected to remain high until the market closes.

USDJPY WEEKLY OUTLOOK### Weekly Market Outlook
Monday: The week begins quietly with a U.S. bank holiday in observance of Memorial Day, leading to subdued financial markets.
Tuesday: Focus shifts to Japan for the release of the BoJ core CPI y/y. In the United States, the CB Consumer Confidence data will be closely monitored.
Wednesday: Key inflation data from Australia will be released, offering insights into the RBA's upcoming monetary policy decisions.
Thursday: A series of significant U.S. economic indicators will be published, including preliminary GDP q/q figures, unemployment claims, and pending home sales. These data points are crucial for understanding the U.S. economic trajectory.
Friday: The week concludes with several important releases. Japan will report its Tokyo core CPI y/y and industrial production data. The eurozone will release its CPI figures, the final print before the next ECB meeting. In the United States, the core PCE price index m/m, personal income m/m, and personal spending m/m data will be released, providing a comprehensive view of recent consumer activity.
Throughout the week, several FOMC members are scheduled to speak, potentially offering insights into future monetary policy. Additionally, Barclays suggests that month-end rebalancing might signal strong dollar selling, a factor to consider in trading decisions.
In the U.S., CB Consumer Confidence is expected to decline from 97.0 to 96.1. Analysts at Wells Fargo highlight a discrepancy: consumer spending has recently increased, while consumer confidence has declined since the beginning of the year, reaching its lowest level since 2022. This decline in confidence may stem from persistent concerns about rising prices, despite a drop in inflation from its peak. Additionally, a slight rise in unemployment has contributed to a less optimistic economic outlook.
Technical Analysis:
The price continues to experience bullish pressure towards 157.970, with a potential further rise to 159.820 upon breaking this level.
A correction to 156.590 is possible before resuming the bullish trend. The bearish scenario will be triggered if the support line at 156.590 is broken, potentially leading to a drop to 155.940 and 155.445
Pivot line: 156.590
Resistance line: 157.970, 159.82, 161.820
Support line: 155.950, 155.450, 154.700
The expected trading range is between support 155.450 and Resistance 157.970

Order typesIn the past, a person would typically have to go to the brokerage or another financial entity to buy or sell a security. The trade would be then settled through a personal meeting or, as technology progressed, over the phone. Nonetheless, the implementation of modern technology within the financial markets of the 21st century made placing buy and sell orders as easy as a few mouse button clicks. Nowadays, many trading platforms allow their clients to execute various types of orders beyond ordinary buy and sell orders.
Key takeaways:
Using limit orders is generally considered one of the safest ways to buy or sell a security.
Modern technology allows placing buy and sell orders with a few mouse clicks.
A stop-loss and stop-limit orders are used to protect an investor’s capital.
A trailing stop locks in some of the accrued profits.
Quick trade orders get instantly filled by a single or double click on a bid or ask button.
Limit order
A buy limit order is used to buy a security at a specified price. This type of order is executed automatically in a case when the price of a security is lower than the value of the buy limit order. A sell limit order is used to sell a security at a specified price. It gets automatically filled when the price of a security is higher than the value of the sell limit order. This design occasionally allows for the execution of the buy limit order or the sell limit order at a better price. Generally, limit orders are one of the safest ways to purchase or sell a security.
Quick-trade order
Some trading platforms allow the use of quick-trade orders. A quick-trade order is a type of order that is instantly filled by a single or double click on a bid or ask button in a trading platform. These orders are relatively safe to use. However, filling this type of order in highly volatile markets might be difficult due to a quickly changing price.
Market order
When traders choose to use a market order, they let the market set the price of security. In essence, this means that for a buy market order, a trade execution occurs at the nearest ask. For a sell market order, a trade execution takes place at the nearest bid. The use of the market order is less safe in comparison to limit order because it allows for worse filling of orders in illiquid markets and markets dominated by algorithmic trading. However, some platforms offer their clients the option to choose the tolerance threshold for such trade orders.
Good ‘Til Canceled order (GTC)
This type of order remains active until it is filled or canceled.
Stop-loss and stop-limit orders
A stop-loss order sells a position at a market price if it reaches or passes a specified price. Unlike a stop-loss order, a stop-limit order liquidates a position only at a specified or better price. These types of orders are used to protect investor’s capital before depreciation.
Trailing stop order
A trailing stop order trails the price as it moves in the trader’s favor. For a long position, a trailing stop moves higher with the price but stays unchanged when the price falls. Similarly, for a short position, a trailing stop moves lower with the price but remains unchanged when the price rises. The intent of a trailing stop is to lock in some of the accrued profits.

I have made a long position in futures for a target of around 1650.
My strict SL is at 1530.

Breakout in Cipla?Potential breakout in Cipla?
Let's understand.
Candle made yesterday followed by the candle made today indicates a lot of strength. Both the candles are big green candles backed up with big green volume bars. This gives me a hint that the resistance zone between 1520 and 1525 might be broken now and we might see a strong breakout.
Coming to my momentum indicator, RSI, it is moving in the buy zone now. We generally consider the zone between 40 and 60 as neutral and RSI is just breaching the 60 mark.
So, I will buy as and when I get a new buy signal in the hourly chart with SL below 1470 and targets above 1525.
